Hemos ayudado a transformar este espacio del céntrico y complejo barrio de Lavapiés, de una tahona a un hito de la cultura urbana, tras un largo proceso de gestiones y obras con todo tipo de dificultades. Nuestro empeño ha sido introducir conceptos de bioclimática, bioconstrucciòn, y energías renovables en el centro de Madrid creando un espacio atractivo por su diseño y su funcionalidad. En la dirección de las obras ha participado Pablo Saiz y en el proceso han ayudado muchas personas, especialmente sus promotores Lourdes e Ignasi. ¡Enhorabuena a todos!
We have helped to transform this space in the complex district of Lavapiés from a local bakery into a cultural urban icon, after a long process of management and works with many difficulties. Our determination has been to introduce bio-climatics, bio-construction and renewable energies in the city of Madrid, creating an attractive space from its design and functionality. In the work management Pablo Saiz has participated and in the process many have helped, specially the developers Lourdes and Ignasi. Congratulations every one!

Read MoreCada obra de rehabilitación de un edificio antiguo de viviendas tiene su problemática particular. En este edificio de Lavapiés, una de nuestras primeras rehabilitaciones, se debía utilizar el patio de una finca colindante, con sus originales y rocambolescas historias asociadas.
One finds different problems in the refurbishment of old residential buildings. In this our first of such experiences, in the popular borough of Lavapiés, we had to use the patio of an adjacent building, which brought about rocambolesque stories.
En esta, nuestra segunda obra de rehabilitación de un edificio residencial en Lavapiés, el principal problema ha sido responder a las necesidades del edificio y de sus habitantes a la vez. La gravedad de los daños que se fueron descubriendo requería obras que los propietarios no podían pagar. Finalmente, varios años después, se ha terminado la rehabilitación del edificio con éxito.
In this, our second refurbishment of a residential building in Lavapiés, the main problem has been to respond to both the needs of the building and of its inhabitants. The importance of the damages found required works that the owners could not pay. Finally, after a few years work, the refurbishment is complete and successful.
Entre las callejas de Lavapiés se esconde este reducido espacio del diseño: una vivienda y un local llenos de detalles y de ingenio para hacer hueco a un programa más amplio que sus dimensiones. Se proyectaron materiales ecológicos y mobiliario singular para esta maqueta de sí misma. Hicimos el modelo 1:20, ahora nos queda el 1:1. Dime cuándo, cuándo, cuándo…
Among the narrow streets of Lavapiés lies this reduced space of design: an apartment and a show-room filled with details and wit to make room for a program larger than the space to fit it in. Ecological materials and singular furniture were planned for this, a model of itself. We did the 1 to 20 model, now we must do the 1 to 1 model…Dime cuándo, cuándo, cuándo.
Hacer grande lo pequeño. Con este objetivo se planteó la reforma de este ático en el multirracial barrio de Lavapiés (Madrid). Los espacios interiores lo tenían claro, debían ser diáfanos; y el ambiente, fino. Se recuperó una antigua terraza cerrada con un invernadero, se eligió mobiliario de diseño y una combinación original de materiales, fundamentalmente en el baño y la cocina.
To make the small big. With this aim was the remodelling of a flat in the multi-cultural district of Lavapiés planned. The interior rooms were determined to be clear and their design fine. A former terrace was recovered and dressed in glass as a greenhouse. A trendy furniture and a subtle mixture of materials.
Uno de los locales de referencia del movimiento cultural alternativo de Madrid fue La Dinamo, recientemente cerrado. Nuestra afinidad a este planteamiento cultural nos acercó a su proyecto y nos mantuvo ocupados durante el largo proceso y gestión de la legalización del local, que finalmente se consiguió poco antes de su cierre por otras causas.
One of the most popular and active cultural spaces in Madrid was La Dinamo, recently closed down. Our affinity to this cultural concept brought us together and kept us busy for a long period with the management of its legalization, which was completed short before it closed down for other reasons.
Este espacio proyectado por Iñaki Alonso, Pablo Saiz y Alberto Marcos fue la plataforma de despegue de Satt y de AMPS (www.amps.es). Lo caracterizaron un diseño sencillo, y una sensibilidad para apreciar el valor de un edificio antiguo y rescatar sus materiales nobles, tapados y maltratados durante demasiados años. El mobiliario, diseñado a base de tableros contrachapados fue el soporte para crear muchas ideas y proyectos con una energía especial que nos sigue acompañando allí donde vamos.
This space, designed by Iñaki Alonso, Pablo Saiz y Alberto Marcos was the launchpad of Satt and AMPS (www.amps.es). It was based in a simple design and a sensibility to appreciate the value of the old building and to bring out the noble and for too long hidden and mistreated materials. The furniture, designed with plywood panels was the stand on which many ideas and proyects were created with a special energy that accompanies us whereever we go.
